You’ve Never Experienced Anything Like This Epic Abandoned Railroad Hike In Oklahoma

The Old Frisco Trail, stretching from Poteau to Wister, is a 6.5-mile trail that runs along where the old Frisco Railroad tracks once existed. The tracks are now gone, but the trail still remains. The trail runs parallel to the Old Wister Highway through LeFlore County and has been rehabilitated over the last few years by a local businessman. So go put on those running shoes and set out on this easy, beautiful trail along the path of the old Frisco Railroad.

Doesn’t this look like a wonderful trail for an epic hike? Parking can be found in the PARC Ball Field, a half mile south of the northern trailhead on the western side of the trail (off US 271). To find more hiking trails in Oklahoma, click here.
