Drone Footage Captured At This Abandoned Cleveland Amusement Park Is Truly Grim

It’s officially been ten years since Geauga Lake, the iconic Northeast Ohio amusement park, closed its gates to the public. Opened in 1887, the area had evolved over decades from a simple lakeside picnic spot to one of the best amusement parks in America. While it wasn’t quite within Cleveland’s city limits, the park undoubtedly played a huge role in creating lifetimes’ worth of unforgettable memories in the hearts and minds of Clevelanders everywhere. Whether you grew up chasing thrills by riding the rickety wooden rails of the Big Dipper or making a splash at the adjacent Wildwater Kingdom water park, chances are good that a chunk of your favorite childhood memories took place at Geauga Lake.
