There are places near the city that are overlooked and under the radar. Believe it or not, there is a beach town near the 415 that will more than excite you this summer. Let’s learn more about this unique and one-of-a-kind beach town near San Francisco.
Montara Statea Beach is located at the Corner Of Highway 1, Montara, 94037
Montara is a tiny town with a beautiful beach in San Mateo County. The population is around 3000, so expect a relaxed atmosphere.
Just north of the main town, you'll find this splendid beach so close to San Francisco.
The terrain here is striking. Note the Devil's Slide, a steep, rocky coastal promontory located about midway between Montara and the Linda Mar District of Pacifica.
You'll need to take a dirt trail and some stairs before arriving to the beach.
If you want to experience some coastal hiking then check out Mcnee ranch trail. This trail rises steeply from rocky seacliffs to an elevation of 1500 feet.
Check out the Point Montara Light Station as well. You can walk around the historic lighthouse grounds that was established in 1875.
Many things about this beach and even drive will entice and impress. The breathtaking views along the coast, the beach, and even the drive itself will make this beach trip more than worthwhile.
