This Massive Candy Store In Northern California Will Make You Feel Like A Kid Again
When was the last time you were in a candy store? Don’t you remember when your mom let you pick one special treat in the store? Stepping inside this candy store is like walking into your own personal time machine. You find yourself a kid again when a piece of Hubba Bubba or a Watermelon Stick was all you needed to make life all better.
Do you remember what it was like to step inside a candy store? When was the last time you escorted a child into one? This little nugget is over the moon excited over discovering a sucker the size of her head!
Before we get a little candy-drunk, we have to mention that Powell's serves GELATO. Which makes this candy store that much more perfect. Mom and Dad can have a little ice cream while their kids skip around the store.
Candyland? Of course! The games are under glass so all you have to do is pick up the pieces at the front counter. How fun is that?
Buckets and baskets, containers of all kinds hold pieces of your childhood memories. Don't know what to get a friend hitting a big birthday this year? How about a bag of happy childhood years?
Candy buttons, and do you see those Zots? One of my ABSOLUTE fav candies growing up. I bought some and gave them to my kids without telling them about the fizzy centers. Made for a great photo opp!
And then there's this. Not only can you reminisce with your kids about what it was like back in "your day." You can now teach them the fine art of Pac Man. The Pokemon Go of our childhood.
Powell's Sweet Shoppe is a candy store adventure. Guess what? There's FOUR Powell's stores in Northern California to choose from: Chico, Lafayette, Berkeley and Burlingame!
An old fashioned library card catalog. Guess what this one is filled with? GUM!
A hilarious memory of our youth. The candy that taught us to smoke. Lung Cancer candy. If you have a dark sense of humor like I do then it you can laugh at the ridiculousness of it all. Kind of like how we weren't old enough to buy cigarettes in high school but there were designated smoking sections for us. Crazy!
Bacon soda? Absolutely! If you love fizzy drinks then you'll be ecstatic over their soda pop selections.
With our dear Gene Wilder passing this year it seems that much more apropos to make a special trip in his honor. After all, he was the CEO of candy and our childhood memories.
Want to be a hero to your kid again? Bring them here. A great surprise when they bring home their report card or you want to do something magical on their birthday. They'll never forget it.
Who knew this is just what the doctor ordered? A few minutes inside a candy store like this one is good for the soul.
