This Quaint North Dakota Town Will Be Your New Favorite Destination
Get a taste of North Dakota small town life at the delightful and quaint town of Ashley, ND. With a population of only 750 people, there is no rush or hustle here. It is a great destination to get away from a busy life and just appreciate the small things.
Ashley was founded in 1888.
Like many North Dakota small towns, it was founded when the railroad reached that point. The name came from that, too - a railroad man named Ashley E. Morrow. By 1910, the population was at 682 and rapidly climbing.
This mural was created for the centennial of the town.
One spot you can visit for a stroll out on a nice day is the Centennial Park, featuring everything you need for some casual outdoor fun.
The town is the county seat for McIntosh County.
This beautiful county courthouse resides in Ashley, and isn't the only lovely site in the town.
When visiting, you can check out some of the historical and retro buildings that still stand.
