In Sanford, along the Deep River, exists a haunting site of what once was. Since the 1800s, the Deep River had been dammed, but in 1921 the Carbonton Dam was built. It was 17 ft. tall and stretched for over 200 feet, generating power to the area. But while the dam is now long gone, the most haunting remain is, in fact, the tall powerhouse.
