Worst Winter In North Carolina
Trent Jonas|January 26, 2024
It's difficult to say what the worst winter in North Carolina would be, as it would depend on what you consider "worst" - coldest or snowiest - and where you're located in the Tar Heel State. The worst winter in Asheville will probably be quite a bit different from the worst winter in Wilmington. That said, here are a couple of most memorable winters in North Carolina:
The winter of 1993. In one of North Carolina's snowiest winters, the mountainous western part of the state received more than 60 inches of snow.
The winter of 2000. One storm, the so-called "Carolina Crusher," dumped as much as 24 inches of snow on parts of the Tar Heel State.
