This Abandoned Theme Park In North Carolina Announces Reopening Date With Dramatic Makeover

Ghost Town in the sky opened May 1st, 1961 to thousands of guests seeking their very own Wild Wild West Experience. The theme park featured 40 replica buildings and amusement rides. Guests rode the ski lift to a 4,600-foot elevation for an experience like none other. During its prime, Ghost Town had, on average, 620,000 visitors per year.

While Ghost Town is certainly changing, it’s amazing this theme park is reopening its doors and letting many experience the nostalgia and adventure they felt as kids. Do you have a personal experience with Ghost Town in the sky and will you be visiting the new park?
