There’s so many amazing places to eat in New York and that especially includes New York City. If you’ve ever taken a trip to our big city then you know that you can find a variety of unusual restaurants to check out that you wouldn’t normally find anywhere else. Easily catching your eye in the historical streets of Chelsea, you’ll find that there’s no restaurant in the world like this one:
One of the many extraordinary neighborhoods that make up the Big Apple, The Trailer Park Lounge can be found in Chelsea.
No this isn't some wild thrift store or a vibrant auto repair shop, what you're looking at is one of the most unique restaurants in New York City. Colorfully decorated, outside of The Trailer Park Lounge you'll find an old toilet that now functions as an on-street ashtray, alongside other eye-catching and nostalgic items.
How to get here: 271 West 23rd Street New York, NY 10011
If the unusual outward appearance of this dining establishment didn't grab your attention enough, the interior most certainly will.
Dripping in holiday string lights and nostalgic decor, checking out all there is to see on the walls of The Trailer Park Lounge almost beats people watching in the city.
No that's not a mural on the wall, you'll find an actual trailer in the restaurant!
Inside the trailer you'll find one of the several charming mannequins that you'll see throughout this dining establishment. Stay tuned for more mannequins...
During the warmer months you'll often see the front garage door open, bringing in a perfect breeze.
This restaurant is certainly filled with character!
Pictured below, you can see the setup by the garage door, a set of bowling alley chairs and a table made from an old ball return!
The unique decor is carried throughout all of The Trailer Park Lounge. Unique features such as the amazing table pictured above, are all part of what makes this place so special and fun.
Time to have fun and take a visit to the Tiki Bar where you'll find a tub full of ice, beers, and of course, a mannequin.
Lord only knows the fascinating stories that this tiara-wearing, sunglass-rocking mannequin could tell!
One of the many reasons people come to check out this place is because of their famously delicious margaritas.
Pictured above, not only can you see the drink menu, but you can also see the Harley Davidson blender at the bar! The margaritas are one of the main (and many) reasons people come here, with a variety of flavors you can't go wrong.
Let's not forget about the food though!
It doesn't have to be anyone's birthday for you to have your food delivered to you on a pirate ship. Pictured above, you can see the Slider Shindig featuring tater tots, cheese nachos, sweet potato fries and eight sliders. Sounds like the perfect opportunity to drag your family and friends here to share this boat full of food with you!
Serving homemade chili, mac and cheese that will make you drool for days, and mile-high BLT's amongst other savory sandwiches, this place is an overall win.
We all know the feeling, the one where we're so use to constantly being served fries as our potato side. And then that magical moment happens when you find out that the restaurant you've decided to dine at has tater tots. Woohoo! No matter what you decide to order off of The Trailer Park Lounge's menu, you certainly won't regret it.
From vintage cans of Easy Cheese to Britney Spears and Elvis memorabilia, there's seriously so much to check out inside the walls of The Trailer Park Lounge.
The story goes, that the two people who started this restaurant were inspired to start this venture after encountering an Elvis impersonator in Florida!
