Take A Bird’s Eye View Tour Of This Pristine State Park In New York

There’s no denying it, Green Lakes State Park is absolutely stunning. The beautiful blue-green waters of Green Lake and Round Lake look like it belongs in the Caribbean, not 20 minutes east of Syracuse. The sandy beaches are a popular draw, but we bet you’ve never seen this incredible State Park – which the U.S. Department of the Interior designated as a National Natural Landmark in 1973 – from this amazing aerial angle before.

This video, shared by Matt Conheady on YouTube, gives you a one-of-a-kind bird’s eye view tour of this lovely place!

With a stunning old growth forest and the unique lakes, which get their unusual color because they aren’t like other lakes; they are meromictic, meaning that the cold deep waters do not mix with the warmer surface waters, which keeps the water from getting cloudy. It’s certainly a sight you should see for yourself, but for now, enjoy it from above!
