Most Buffalonians, ourselves included, walk the streets and sidewalks of the Queen City without giving a second thought to what lies underneath their feet. But something major is hidden under those silver city grates, and it’s pretty amazing. No — it’s not a team of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (although some of that movie was filmed on our streets). There are thousands of vaults and tunnels hidden under the streets of Buffalo that date back to the origins of the city. It’s completely unexpected — and completely awesome. Take a look:
