Between significant snowstorms and our rowdy football fans, Buffalo tends to get a bad rep. If you talk to anyone about being from the 716, the chances are high that you’ll be met with undermining comments about the Queen City (and the people who live here). While some of the things that come to mind about WNY are accurate, here are 9 of the most common stereotypes about Buffalo that need to be put to rest right now.
Despite what the media might lead you to believe, not all Bills fans partake in lighting themselves on fire as a pre-game ritual. This is one stereotype that definitely needs to be "put out," no pun intended.
Contrary to popular belief, the weather isn't ALWAYS cold in Buffalo! We actually experience four stellar seasons in the 716. Winter just happens to feel like one of the longer ones.

Wings are an important part of many Buffalonians' diets, but that doesn't mean it's all we like to eat. We're quite diverse in our tastes here in the Queen City!

We'll admit it; we have no idea why this is so prevalent in Buffalo, but driving straight into businesses and buildings with our vehicles isn't a regular activity, no matter how many times it pops up in the news (but, seriously, Buffalo... get it together with this one).

Believe it or not, we're not bitter. We enjoy watching our teams play, win or lose. You don't have to understand it, and you definitely don't have to pity us for Billieving or bleeding blue and gold. Just please don't bring up wide right, no goal, or talk to us immediately after any loss to the Patriots.
We love our neighbors to the north. That doesn't mean we like being grouped together with them. Buffalo is NOT Canada. Check a map, people!
