Spring often inspires new beginnings and that makes it an ideal time to explore an attraction or part of the state that’s new to you. We’ve combined some of our most popular places with spots that are particularly appropriate to visit in spring. Forget spring cleaning, and start spring adventuring with a visit to these 12 fantastic places in New Mexico:
1. City of Rocks State Park (between Silver City and Deming)
Volcanic activity is responsible for most of the strangely-shaped rocks throughout our state and this unique park is no exception. Here you’ll find tuff formations towering up to 40 feet high, creating a stone maze that just begs to be explored. The reward for staying overnight at one of the 52 camping spots is an unforgettable star-gazing experience.
