This Incredible Kite Festival In New Mexico Is A Must-See
Overlook Park in White Rock is always a spectacular place. From here you can enjoy an astonishing aerial perspective of the Rio Grande, along with canyon trails, picnic areas, and playing fields. However, once a year, this hidden gem becomes even more appealing because it’s the site of a beautiful kite festival.
In 2017, the festival runs:
Friday, May 19th from 7:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.
Saturday, May 20th and Sunday, May 21st from 12:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.
While the combination of kites in a setting with such incredible views makes the Los Alamos Kite Festival special, it isn’t the only event of its kind in New Mexico. If you can’t make it to White Rock, there is a similar event in Ruidoso on September 23rd and 24th of this year.
There’s so much going on in the Land of Enchantment, from annual festivals to the most famous event of all: the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta.
