The New Mexico McDonald’s That Is Unlike Any Other In The World
The Roswell McDonald's in New Mexico stands out with its UFO-themed design, attracting visitors with its unique decor and space-themed elements.
All the restaurants in a fast food chain are essentially the same, right?
While that might be true in many places, it isn’t the case in Roswell, New Mexico.
In the minds of the public, this city is forever tied to the 1947 Roswell Incident. Whether people believe that the UFO was part of an espionage operation or that it contained visitors from another planet, fascination with the event continues.
Roswell has alien themed street lamps, contains the International UFO Museum and Research Center, and hosts an annual UFO Festival. So it’s not entirely surprising that the Roswell McDonald’s is a little… kooky.
In fact the exterior resembles a spaceship or flying saucer.
Kids and adults alike are captivated by the fun theme.
Sure, the food is standard McDonald’s fare, but you’re here for the décor.
There’s a solar system-inspired play area.
A spacesuit-clad Ronald McDonald floats near the ceiling.
And the cups of soda are space-themed as well.
Outside, you’ll find ornate murals depicting fun, creative images of outer space.
Notice how everything orbits around the McDonald's?
As a city, Roswell has a good number of murals but this is the only place you’ll see Ronald McDonald crouched atop a rocket!
He looks a little big for it - order a super-sized one already!
The exterior is especially appealing at night, when the building seems to glow as if readying for launch.
