If you’re anything like me, you never want to stop learning! Why not take up an interesting hobby or develop a truly unique skill? There are one-of-a-kind classes offered throughout the state!
1. Try your hand at trapeze classes!
The Circus Place in Hillsborough offers a wide variety of classes for children and adults. Choose from trapeze, silks, unicycle, wire walking, hoops, juggling and contortion classes! You're sure to have a blast, and it's a great workout.
2. Take the plunge and learn to scuba dive!
Underwater Adventures in Short Hills offers open water diving certification, a variety of classes and local diving trips! Ocean Explorers Aquatic Center in Edison also offers diving classes.
3. Set your sights on archery lessons.
Targeteers Sporting Goods in Saddle Brook offers affordable lessons, leagues, and open range sessions! Archery is all the rage right now, thanks to The Hunger Games series, and it's a total blast.
4. Learn cake decorating from the pros!
Carlo's Bakery is home of the famed "Cake Boss", Buddy Valastro, and offers decorating classes in Morristown, Jersey City, Red Bank, and Ridgewood. Learn about piping, bows, brush embroidery, and more.
5. Become a Ninja Warrior with parkour classes.
High Exposure Rock Gym in Northvale offers challenging parkour classes to improve strength and balance. Though the training can get pretty intense, you can start at any level. Master the classes and consider competing on popular show, "Ninja Warrior".
6. Learn about everything from robotics to retirement planning at a community school.
Most of New Jersey's community colleges offer affordable continuing education classes. Our state also offers a variety of community school programs in neighborhoods including Fair Lawn, Ridgewood, Ramsey and Jackson. The class selection is quite impressive. Learn to sew or speak a second language!
7. Become the next Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus, or Babe Didrikson.
The Garden State Golf Academy in Paramus offers indoor and outdoor golf lessons for children and adults alike. Choose from private lessons, group lessons or targeted clinics.
8. Ride with the wind at a local farm or stable.
Indian Trail Farm in Vineland offers private horseback riding lessons for children and adults. The farm is set on 60 acres of fields and forests for authentic wilderness riding.
9. Shoot like a pro! Shoot photos, that is.
Unique Photo in Fairfield offers a wide selection of cameras and supplies, along with photography classes. They also provide students with the incredible opportunity to score a Scarlet Knights photo field pass! It's pricey, but a completely unique experience.
10. Expand your recipe book with VEGAN cooking classes.
In The Kitchen Cooking School in Haddonfield offers a wide selection of cooking classes, including vegan options! Check out vegan tailgate favorites, vegan Indian cuisine, vegan Italian meals, and more!
