When we think of summer getaways in New Jersey, our minds typically gravitate towards locations along the shore. Our beautiful beach towns are perfect warm weather destinations, but the Garden State has more to offer when the mercury starts rising. Lake Hopatcong provides endless recreation opportunities on the water and there’s nothing quite like tubing (or rafting) on the Delaware – especially with our famous river hot dog man. However, I have a fantastic summer day trip in mind that you may not have considered.
Did you know Hope had so much to offer? From hiking to thrill rides, shopping to splashing around, this is a perfect summer getaway. If the beach is more your style, check out my Cape May travel guide.
