1. 15 Fox Place, Jersey City
This unassuming homefront holds within it one of the finest Italian restaurants in the state. Admission is by reservation only and there is no menu; you're served multiple courses through the night, at a fixed price. The exclusive dining club has snagged some serious press and rave reviews for its fantastic food and seemingly endless dinner - come hungry.
2. Claudie's Chicken, Middletown
Tucked away behind a gas station and sharing space with a convenience store, this restaurant serves up some incredible wings. You'll also find some great BBQ ribs and truly affordable prices.
3. Belford Bistro, Belford
Strip mall gourmet? Absolutely. You'll find incredible steak and seafood here, along with a budget-friendly prix fixe dinner menu.
4. The Walpack Inn, Walpack
This secluded Sussex County restaurant is miles from much of civilization, located in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. Diners will enjoy both amazing food and spectacular views, and may even spot a deer or two from the greenhouse. You'll love the charming atmosphere and lodge-like vibe.

This nondescript building is located in a residential area just outside of Salem. There's no website, no menu online, no photos available other than this street view shot, but you'll find some of the best cheesesteaks in the country here. A truly hidden gem, once you try a 'steak at this local joint, you'll be back. Be sure not to drive past - you won't see a sign.
10. Oink and Moo BBQ, Florham Park
This incredible restaurant evolved out of a popular food truck. Oink and Moo BBQ was named among the top Food Trucks in America by The Daily Meal and recently opened a storefront in Florham Park. It could easily pass for just another home in the neighborhood, but it's anything but ordinary. Try the chicken chipotle tacos, baked mac n' cheese, or anything else on this unique menu.
11. Minado, Little Ferry
This gourmet buffet is attached to a cheap motel right off Route 46. The sushi here is sublime and the dessert crepe station is fantastic.
12. Kitchen 519, Glendora
It may not look like much from the outside, but the inside is quaint and the food is fabulous. Enjoy modern American cuisine and stellar seafood at this spot which also offers gluten-free and vegan/vegetarian options.
13. Roberta's By Joe Muldoon, Northfield
Another hidden gem tucked away in a strip mall, chef Joe Muldoon is a culinary genius. The food is incredible, the service is friendly, and this wonderful spot also offers seasonal outdoor dining.
14. Chef Volas, Atlantic City
This legendary local spot has been in business for nearly 100 years. Difficult to find and hidden away in a basement, top notch cuisine awaits at this secret speakeasy. While we may know about it now, for years it remained an exclusive establishment. Reservations can still be hard to come by.
