We’ve officially entered the peak of the holiday season, and we need to make the most of it before it slips through our fingers. And what summons the magic of Christmas more than fantastic displays of lights? Though there are plenty of great places to see them in New Hampshire, there’s one magical drive that shows off lights in the most unique way.
If you live in New Hampshire, we can bet that you've visited the New Hampshire Motor Speedway — probably when it looked something like this.
But each December, the track changes its look for the Gift of Lights.
This fantastic event features 60 holiday scenes, 400 light displays, and 2 million lightbulbs.
The two-mile course winds around the grandstands, through part of the road course, and through the famous Tunnel of Lights on the infield.
The cost of admission is $20 per car, but you can get $2 off if you bring three non-perishable food items to donate to the Loudon Food Pantry, or if you dress up for theme nights like Halloween night or Ugly Sweater night.
Every Saturday night during the festival, they offer a fire pit where you can make s'mores for a donation to the Loudon Fire Department. They'll also have gingerbread cookies available!
Children and adults alike will be absolutely enchanted by this magical drive!
The Gift of Lights runs from November 24 through December 31 (except December 4 and December 25), from 4:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. each night.
