It’s officially the holiday season, but we all know that the holidays don’t really start until you decide to get into the Christmas spirit. From the silly to the downright exciting, here’s your Christmas bucket list for New Hampshire. Remember – it’s not actually Christmas in New Hampshire until you do these things:
1. Cut Down Your Christmas Tree.
Preferably in the snow, with some cute kids in toe.
2. Argue passionately with your family members about which tree is best.
Why don't they just understand?
3. Then pose for an adorable photo to show just how magical this time of year is.
See how much fun everyone is having?
4. Drive through the lights at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
The Gift Of Lights event gives you the once-a-year chance to drive around the track. Just not at NASCAR speeds.
5. Ask Santa for a snowblower, new boots, or anything else you might need to survive the long New Hampshire winter.
In New Hampshire, we like to be practical.
6. Take your very own Journey to the North Pole.
This White Mountains's Polar Express train is simply magical.
7. Sing "I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas."
And really, really mean it.
8. Catch a Christmas Show at The Palace Theatre in Manchester.
This year, the Nutcracker and A Christmas Carol are both running.
9. See the State House all decorated.
The Concord institution looks even more regal this time of year.
10. Brave the crowds at the outlets to get a great deal.
There won't be that many people, right?
11. Take a horse-drawn sleigh ride.
Could this be any more romantic?
12. Appreciate the lights in small town New Hampshire.
There's something to charming about small towns during the holidays.
13. Stand in the freezing cold to watch your town's Christmas parade.
Just be sure to remember the hot chocolate.
14. Ride the rides at Santa's Village in the snow.
That's an experience you could only ever have in New Hampshire!
