When strong storms rolled through southeastern Nebraska on April 24, the winds and rain spawned a tornado that touched down near Superior, in Nuckolls County. The tornado was on the ground for about six minutes and traveled approximately four miles. Tina Hamilton and her daughter were driving when the tornado appeared nearby on the side of the road. Somehow, the two ladies had the courage to record the insanely scary storm as they drove past it at full speed. (You may want to mute your speakers; the sound quality is very poor.)

I don’t know if I would have been brave enough to keep going – I probably would have frozen and not known what to do. But luckily the ladies made it home safely, no one was injured and no major damage occurred as a result of the tornado, and we have a great up-close view of this powerful weather event.
