The Underrated Lake That Just Might Be The Most Beautiful Place In Montana

Montanans appreciate a day spent by the lake more than most–we happen to have some of the most beautiful bodies of water in the country. But while most flock to Flathead, Seeley or Como during the summer, there are a few lakes that sometimes don’t draw the crowds they could. Bowman Lake is one of them.

Bowman Lake is in Glacier National Park, so it has a lot of "competition" when it comes to stunning scenery.

The lake is located in the North Fork area of Glacier National Park about 32 miles from the west entrance.

The water looks crystal clear on a sunny day, so people love kayaking here.

And while you might not make a big catch, if you bring your fishing gear you can enjoy catching cutthroats and whitefish.

There's even a campground on the shore, so you can have waterfront overnight accommodations.

There are also some beautiful trails near the lake perfect for day hikes.

It's impossible to say if this is the most underrated spot in Montana, but we're willing to bet it's a top contender.
