Drive-in theaters used to be the most popular way to see a movie. However, these seasonal attractions couldn’t compete with indoor theaters and, over the years, they disappeared. You can still find some of these great drive-ins scattered across the state. Summer is the best time to take a long drive and head to the drive-in theater. Make plans to visit one of these 8 drive-ins in Missouri before they close for the season.
The Starlight Drive-In is a double theater located in Cadet. They reopened in 2010 after making some upgrades to the theater. Stop in to see a show at 15605 N State Highway 21,

The 66 Drive-In is the only drive-in on the National Historic Resister in the state. This theater was renovated and reopened in 1997. This drive-in is cash only. Find the 66 Drive-In at 17231 Old 66 Blvd, Carthage.
The Barco Drive-In is a super popular destination in southwest Missouri. Catch a double feature on their well maintained screen. Your kids will love to play on the jungle gym in front of the screen. Visit the Barco Drive-In at 57 SE 25th Ln, Lamar.
The I-70 Drive-In is one of the largest capacity theaters. They have a fully stocked concessions stand and still feature the original working speakers. Find the I-70 Drive-In at 8701 E US-40, Kansas City.
The Twin Drive-In is a summertime must in Independence. This dual screen theatre shows a double feature on weekdays and triple features on weekends. Don't forget to stop by the concession stand between films. Find the Twin Drive-In at 1320 N 291 & Kentucky Rd

After closing for a few years the 21 Drive-In was reopened in 1997. Listen on the original speakers and catch the double feature. See the show at 21 Drive in located at Highway 21 N, Van Buren.

The Moberly Drive-In was reopened in 1997 and is next to the Moberly 5 Cinema, which is a transitional walk-in theater. The drive-in operates seasonally and shows a double feature. Find the Moberly 5 and Drive-Inn at 3000 North Morley, Moberly.
