This Rare Footage In The 1940s Shows Mississippi Like You’ve Never Seen Before

No matter how much you hear or read about the past, nothing quite compares to being able to actually see it for yourself. And since travelling back in time is out of the question, historic footage is the next best option. The video below was filmed during World War II by a soldier stationed at Camp Shelby and in England. Throughout the years, Camp Shelby, which is near Hattiesburg, has played a huge role in both the state’s and nation’s history, making this video that much more significant. This historic footage provides a unique glimpse into the past, the lives of soldiers, and Camp Shelby itself.

What’d you think of this historic footage? Isn’t it interesting to see the Mississippi of yesteryear?
