1. A massive hurricane.

2. A series of tornadoes.

3. The bugs that call Mississippi home finally take over.

Between super-persistent mosquitoes and flying roaches that are the size of small dogs, the insects are bound to all band together and take over the state one day.
4. People stop eating catfish.

Mississippi growers raise more catfish than any other state, which means that if consumption were non-existent, the state’s economy would be in serious trouble.

7. A zombie apocalypse.

According to a recent study by Estately, which included all 50 states and the District of Columbia, Mississippi has a very low chance of surviving a zombie apocalypse. The study took into account several factors, and despite the fact that Mississippi is home to a large number of military personnel and gun owners, it ranked 50th.
8. A catastrophic flood.

While it’s the Great Flood of 1927 that is most often associated with Mississippi, the state has experienced numerous flood-related disasters over the years.
