Sure Mississippi is filled with a ton of historic homes and conventional museums just waiting to be explored but sometimes you’re looking for something a bit out of the ordinary. Well look no further, because we’ve put together a list of the state’s quirkiest museums. And while they may be off the beaten path, they are definitely worth the trip.
Revisit the past at Yesterday’s Children Antique Doll Museum. It has over 1,000 items on display which date back all the way to 1843!
Offering an inside look at one of the state’s biggest industries, the Maritime and Seafood Industry Museum offers a variety of exhibits on shrimping, oystering, recreational fishing, wetlands, managing marine resources, charter boats, marine blacksmithing, wooden boat building, netmaking, catboats/Biloxi skiff, shrimp peeling machine and numerous historic photographs and objects.

The only one of its kind in the entire world, this small town museum is like taking a step back in time. Featuring thousands of aprons which date back to the 1860’s, it’s definitely a one-of-a-kind experience.

Love the game of bridge? Then this is the museum for you! The interactive museum not only houses the American Contract Bridge League Hall of Fame but also holds the world’s largest collection of bridge memorabilia, trophies, videos and more.
Jim Henson may have been born in Greenville, but his lovable green creation was born in Leland which is why the Chamber of Commerce has an exhibit dedicated to Henson, Kermit the Frog and the rest of the gang.

Turns out the Tupelo Automobile Museum isn’t the only one of its kind in the state. Opened since 2008, the Busted Wrench Garage and Gift Shop is a 6,000 square foot exhibit area that features rare, exotic and one-of-a-kind vehicles.

Learning the history of America’s favorite soft drink is closer than you think thanks to the Biedenharn Coca-Cola Museum. The Biedenharn’s were the first to bottle Coca-Cola. The family’s love for the drink didn’t end there. In 1979, they restored much of the building to its original form as well as installed multiple exhibits for Coca-Cola lovers to enjoy.
