Despite what some out-of-towners may think, Minnesota has a lot going for it. The Land of 10,000 Lakes is not just flyover country. In fact, there are many unique claims to fame in every region of the state. Aside from our many lakes, our state has incredible state parks, fantastic cultural events, and some excellent restaurants. We also have some more humble – but no less impressive – claims to fame – hiding in the quietest corners of the state. One of our favorites is in Minneapolis, and we think you’ll love it:

In the northeastern corner, Monroe Street NE is home to Apostolic Assembly of the Faith in Christ Jesus, a Spanish-speaking church housed in a lovely brick building.

Moving north, you'll want to turn left a 15th Avenue NE. Continue until you reach the next church, a charming brick with green trim. This is The Church at Northeast Christian Center, right on the corner of Madison Street NE.

Head south down the same quiet street, and you'll find Elim Church on the very next corner. Built in the early 1900s, it is probably the most prominent church on the block. Its history actually goes back to 1884, when six women formed a prayer group that grew into the large congregation the church serves today.

Right next door, on the corner of 13th Avenue NE and Monroe Street NE is our final church. Strong Tower Parish is a gorgeous building with vibrant services, and it rounds out the block nicely.

These streets may be quiet most times, but they come to life when church is in session. But it's well worth visiting any time of the week.
