Times are a-changing. But that doesn’t stop us from reminiscing about some of the stores, restaurants and other places that used to call Michigan home. Here, we have a number of places that are no more, but that we agree should absolutely make a return.
This Ann Arbor-based discount book retailer used to be a destination to any book work who wanted to spend hours previewing books, magazines and other media. Online companies like Amazon though made the Border's experience obsolete and the company eventually shuttered.
This burger chain once had a decent presence in Michigan, but alas, the Jumbo Jack, two tacos for a dollar and Sourdough Jack somehow didn't do much for the Michigan food palate.

At its peak, this Michigan-based pharmacy chain was the eighth largest in the country, but the company sold to CVS in 1998.

This Battle Creek-based restaurant chain was once a popular family destination. Unable to keep up with changing tastes and continue its made-from-scratch recipes proved fatal for this company and it folded in 2002.
This Charlotte-based grocery chain had been entirely owned by its employees until its demise in 2006.
