As soon as Memorial Day festivities wind down, it’s time to start making plans for a spectacular Fourth of July celebration. You might be asking yourself, “where can I find fireworks near me this year?” Luckily, we have you covered. As the birthplace of the nation (or so we like to think), Massachusetts knows a thing or two about putting on a fantastic fireworks show in honor of Independence Day. The fireworks shows we told you about in 2016 were pretty incredible, but this year’s celebrations are going to be even better.

1. Boston Fireworks, Charles River

This is the grandfather of all Bay State firework shows. The Boston fireworks are launched over the Charles River around 10:30 p.m. on July 4. The show in the sky is preceded by a show in the Hatch Shell on the Esplanade as the Boston Pops perform their traditional Independence Day concert. You can view these spectacular fireworks from anywhere along the river near the Esplanade, and some streets will be cordoned off to allow for public viewing areas. This event is free to the public.
2. Onset Beach

This fantastic show kicks off on July 1 with a rain date of July 8. The fireworks start blazing at dusk on Onset Beach. This quaint village is on mainland Mass. just before the bridge to the Cape. If you can, spend the hours before the show exploring the charming downtown and then head to the sand to spread your blanket and enjoy the show. This event is free to the public.

These Independence Day fireworks start June 1 at dusk on Beacon Field in Greenfield. They're actually preceded by a Fourth of July community part from 4 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., when the fireworks begin. Bring your family and your lawn chairs to this spectacular evening of patriotism and fun in Western Mass. This event is free to the public.
4. Star Spangled Springfield Fireworks

Join the town of Springfield on July 4 for an evening of live music, great food and amazing fireworks. Head to in Riverfront Park at 7 p.m. to see the 215th Army Band of the Massachusetts Army National Guard will perform for the community, and enjoy the party until the fireworks start at 9:30 p.m. This event is free to the public.
5. Worcester Fireworks, Cristoforo Colombo Park

Get the party started early with this spectacular fireworks show on June 30. Head to Cristoforo Colombo Park (East Park) on Shrewsbury Street at 4 p.m. for kids activities and a performance by the Massachusetts Symphony Orchestra. The fireworks start lighting up the stky at 9:30 p.m. This event is free to the public.
