Visit This One Urban Oasis In Massachusetts When You Wanna Get Away From It All

Looking for a dose of nature, but don’t have time to travel into the countryside? EcoTarium is the perfect urban alternative. Located in Worcester, this indoor-outdoor museum is a fun and convenient way to connect with the outdoors without traveling too far from home.

This place is extremely family-friendly, and offers lots of hands-on wildlife exhibits that are actually interesting for all ages. Whether you’re looking for an educational day trip, or just want to spend a few hours in the sunshine, EcoTarium definitely delivers.

In addition to all these cool activities, EcoTarium also offers some really great nature trails. The Vibram Walking trail loops around scenic Lower Pond, where turtles and Great Blue Heron lounge in the sunshine. The Timescape Trail teaches visitors about the geologic history of the area, while the Meadow Trail is perfect for wildflower lovers.

EcoTarium is located at 222 Harrington Way, Worcester, MA 01604, and is open year-round. Visit Tuesday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. and Sunday 12:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m.

Adults are $15, children 2-18 are $10, and there are senior, military and student discounts available.
