As summer comes to a close, there are still a couple of weekends left to enjoy all that these waterparks and playgrounds have to offer. Go out there and explore!
1) Zoosiana – Broussard
This popular zoo includes the Jungle Lodge playground, crawl tubes, rock walls, hideouts, and bridges.
2) Fountainebleau State Park – Mandeville
A favorite for families on the Northshore, this lakeside park offers a wide range of playground and water features.
3) Sulphur Park Water Park – Sulphur
Although the season recently ended, the huge range of activities available at this public water park attract community members from throughout the area.
4) Biedenharn Museum & Gardens -- Monroe
The Coca-Cola museum and bible museum here include Garden Story baskets with puppets and books as well as a scavenger hunt throughout the gardens.
5) Storyland – New Orleans
Tucked in City Park next door to Carousel Gardens, this playground is populated by all your favorite fairy tale characters, making it a favorite for kids of all ages.
6) Louisiana Children’s Museum -- New Orleans
So technically this is a museum but really it’s a huge indoor playground. You’ll want to come back again and again so you can experience being behind the controls in the T.V. studio or take a ride in the human-size gyroscope.
7) Liberty Lagoon – Baton Rouge
This favorite interactive water playground includes numerous slides as well as a dumping bucket and sprays. If you prefer to stay dry, try the sand volleyball court for a day.
8) Splash Kingdom Water Park – Shreveport
A popular chain of waterparks throughout the area, this is one of the favorite summertime destinations for kids.
9) Blue Bayou -- Baton Rouge
With more than 20 water attractions and some of the biggest water slides in the state, make sure you visit this favorite spot before the season ends!
