Here Are The 12 Most Dangerous Places In Louisiana After Dark

So last year’s article listing the most dangerous places in Louisiana caused quite the controversy. One thing is for sure: Sifting through crime rates can be a difficult business. The rates below came from data listed collected from City-Data.com, which focuses on murders, rapes, robberies, assaults, burglaries, thefts, auto thefts and arson. The numbers below are crimes per 10,000 people, meaning for every 10,000 people, there were approximately 54 (in Kentwood) to 98 (in Bastrop) crimes per person. For the purposes of this list, I focused on cities or towns with populations larger than 2,500.

Many people will be shocked that places like Baton Rouge, New Orleans and Shreveport did not make this list. All of these places have high crime rates according to City-Data.com, with numbers of 488.3, 492.3 and 442 respectively. But they are not as high as the places listed here. I do invite you to check out the info on the website City-Data.com so you can learn more!
