A Trip To This Marvelous Outdoor Market Is Unlike Any Other In Kansas
OK, thrifters: If you loved our post last week about
Kansas’s largest flea market, you are going to LOVE today’s post that is chock-full of bargains and treasures. In fact, there are so many treasures to be found, that this event has been dubbed the Kansas Treasure Hunt:
While not an outdoor market per se, the US Highway 36 Treasure Hunt is a 400-mile-long garage sale that runs from the Colorado to Missouri border.
Started in 2006, this incredible event takes place only a once a year and currently has 35 participating towns and 13 counties (spanning from Cheyenne to Doniphan County).
What does this 3-day sale include? For starters, there are second-hand bargains at every turn...
(There are A LOT of bargains, you guys... on pretty much anything you can image!)
...food trucks/vendors/restaurant specials and so much more.
Since it is impossible to complete the hunt in one day, make your plans now to book your hotel and make your travel arrangements for the 3rd weekend in September, 2017.
Tip: Since you have an entire year to plan and prepare, start saving all of your loose change in a jar for accommodations, gas, and (of course) your treasure haul. Trust us; it adds up quickly!
