Kansas has a total of 12 byways; nine of those are considered scenic. Two of those nine scenic byways are designated as National Scenic Byways, and three of them are historic byways. They stretch for hundreds of miles total, bringing drivers to see some of the most impressive and beautiful scenery the state has to offer. The Flint Hills Scenic Byway, for example, leads visitors through some incredible tallgrass prairies and affords a look at some of the native grasses that call this land home.
