In both 2015 and 2016, we told you all about the fantastic places to see fireworks in Iowa. Well, this year the great state of Iowa is doing it again with dozens of amazing fireworks shows and community celebrations. If these five amazing fireworks shows aren’t close by, check out the extensive fireworks show listings by county at the end of this article.

Head to Clinton Street and Iowa Avenue for the free fireworks show coming up in Iowa City on July 2nd. The show starts promptly at 9:30pm, but it's a good idea to get there much earlier if you'd like room for your lawn chair, cooler, and picnic. The show is part of Iowa City's annual Summer of the Arts and Jazz Festival, so there will be a lot going on between June 30 and July 2, in addition to this awesome fireworks show.

There's a big fireworks show every year at Adventureland Park on the 4th. The show starts at 9:45 and lasts about an hour. You can see the fireworks for miles around, so it's not necessary to get into the park for a great view of the action.

They really know how to do a 4th of July celebration right in the Quad Cities. Monday, July 3, there's a huge fireworks show on the Mississippi riverfront during Red White and Boom. It's the biggest show between Chicago and Denver, and it starts at 9:30pm. Fireworks are shot from two barges on the river. You can see the show from Modern Woodmen Park, LeClaire Park, and Schwiebert Riverfront Park.

Come celebrate with Cedar Rapidians during the town's annual Freedom Festival on the 4th of July this year. It's the largest fireworks display in the area, and you can see it from the downtown bridges, or anywhere along the river in the vicinity. The show starts at 10pm and is choreographed to music by J&M Displays.

Sioux City knows how to throw a party. This year's Saturday in the Park Festival is happening on July 1. It's at Grandview Park, and there's a full day of live music, art, and food. This event is free, and it ends with a fireworks show that starts around 10:30pm.
