Scottsburg's courthouse and historic train depot are national treasures, yet they aren't part of the town's spooky appeal.

The Scott County Heritage Center & Museum is a central site of paranormal activity in this tiny town. This now museum was one a county poor farm (also known as a poor asylum). Many claim former residents of this poor farm still linger around the property. Stories of lights turning on inexplicably, babies crying, footsteps pounding across the second floor, and strange smells have been told. Every October, you can take a ghost tour through the building.

Scottsburg is also home to one of the most haunted cemeteries in the entire state, Bridgewater Cemetery. Stories of paranormal encounters range wildly from hearing screams from seemingly out of nowhere, sounds of horses galloping, strange voices, and pictures of orbs floating. Some insist there were people hung in this cemetery who still haunt the grounds. Watch the above video to learn more.
