Every year, when kids address letters to Santa, Santa Claus, the North Pole, Jolly Lane, or any other holiday themed name, the U.S. Post office delivers them to Santa Claus, Indiana. A group of volunteers helps ensure every letter is answered and sent back through the Santa Claus post office.

Eventually residents agreed to name the small town Santa Claus, and letters to Santa began arriving by accident before this cheery town took on this holiday task.
