Wine is not for everyone, but if you’re someone who enjoys wine it’s normal for you to want to know where your local wineries are and what they’re up to. Today, I’m going to share with you ten beautiful wineries scattered throughout Indiana. Just select the one closest to you and you could come back home with a few delicious bottles of wines for your wine cabinet.
1. Buck Creek Winery
Buck Creek Winery is a new family owned winery located in Indianapolis. Its roots are buried within the successful fourteen year old Durm Vineyards. The lovely family atmosphere and their eagerness to please their guests make it a great choice. In addition to lovely tours of the vineyards as well as tastings, you can enjoy a gift shop and gourmet items.
2. Pepper's Ridge Winery
Pepper’s Ridge Winery is a great place to go for a fun atmosphere and live music in Rockport. With wines on the menu with names like Cowboy Up and Bird Dog Blues you know you're in a laid back location. If you love visiting the winery you can book it for private events including birthdays and rehearsal dinners. They will make sure everything is taken care of so you can enjoy yourself and not have to worry about a thing.
3. Country Moon Winery
Country Moon Winery requires you have a reservation making sure you get the best of all they have to offer. This vineyard. located in Noblesville. offers free wine tastings and winery tours. It gives you a true behind the scenes look at the way a winery is run. You can even book a party for a group including a theme like Cozy Campfire.
4. Ertel Cellars Winery
Ertel Cellars Winery has two hundred acres of family owned grape covered goodness. The large vineyard in Batesville is run by the Ertel family with a combined range of experience spanning fifteen years. You can enjoy motor coach and winery tours of the property. They are proud to feature a lovely restaurant, banquet facilities, and much more.
5. French Lick Winery and Coffee Company
The French Lick Winery is much more than just an interesting name. Guests can look through the large observation window to see the production section of the winery. The winery in French Lick uses ten different types of grapes for their wine. They grow them all their own at their vineyards in Martin County. They're proud to distribute their wine throughout Indiana.
6. Stoney Creek Winery
If you're looking for a more intimate winery to visit. then Stoney Creek Winery is a great choice. The winery is, owned by the Millersburg family, and comes from four generations of wine makers. The winery offers tastings for free of you can get a delicious glass for $4. You can even take the glass home with you. The winery also puts on events such as Ladies Day Out and other themes with vendors and activities.
7. Salt Creek Winery
The Salt Creek Winery is located in Freetown has been open for five years. They're proud they only use the best ingredients in their wine. They don't just make grape wine, they also make pear, cherry, strawberry, blueberry, blackberry, and plum wine. The winery sometimes has live music for their guests. The views from the vinery are breathtaking.
8. Lanthier Winery
The Lanthier Winery located in Madison is near the Clifty Falls and Versailles State Parks. These nearby attractions allow you to make a day of visiting the park and tasting delicious wine. You can enjoy a tour of the winery and take in a tasting while admiring the view from their outside seating area. They also have banquet facilities that can be rented out for events.
9. Turtle Run Winery
Turtle Run Winery is located in Corydon and has an intimate feel about it. The owner of the winery is often the bar manager and enjoys interacting with the patrons. The motto of the winery is to create exceptional wine to go with friends and food. It seems simple but it drives them to make the best wine.
10. Wine Shak Vineyard
The Wine Shak Vineyard is a little different because it's located inside of a salon in Tell City. Sassy's Spa and Salon has a unique feature a wine tasting and vineyard right inside. Guests can enjoy spa treatments and massages along with their delicious wine. These are two things that go great together.
