Everyone’s got to work, and we spend so much of our time at our place of employment. So wouldn’t it be wonderful to be able to go to work in an awesome environment? Well, good news for you–Illinois is home to some amazing companies to work for. We are showcasing ten of the very best:
Everyone loves Groupon for the deals they offer and the fun emails they send, but it's even more enjoyable to work there. It's been ranked a good place to work for mothers and diverse people. You'll enjoy good benefits, an on-site cafe, and a fun atmosphere.
2. Radio Flyer
Anytime I see one of these guys rolling down the street, I smile. People who work at Radio Flyer are incredibly committed to the tradition of these wagons and bikes. An emphasis on volunteering and a program that educates employees about business makes this a wonderful place to work.
McDonalds corporate headquarters are in Oak Brook, and many people work on this campus. To answer the question on everyone's mind...yes, there is a McDonalds on the premises. Drinks are free.
4. Brookfield Zoo
Who didn't want to work with animals when they were kids? If you're an animal lover, this seems like a dream job. People work in a variety of areas here, but working to educate children about animals and conservation seems like it would be amazing.
So you'll have to be a smarty pants to land a job here, but if you've got the brains, I can't imagine a better place to put them to use. This particle physics lab demands hard work but, at the same time, offers great work-life balance.
6. Red Frog Events
Red Frog has repeatedly been voted as one of the best places to work and it's no wonder why. You'll experience a casual workplace and opportunities to hang out with co-workers outside of work in music festivals, auto-racing, and more.
7. Chicago Cubs
Okay, seriously, you get to work for the Chicago Cubs. I don't even care in what capacity. That would just be awesome.
Tris3ct is a great place to work because of its fun, collaborative environment. For example, employees are not physically segregated based on what department they work in. You'll get sweet bennys, including a great profit-sharing plan.
I don't think I saw ratings from employees about how much they liked coming to work like I did with Centro. Wow. People dig the flexibility and work-life balance the company offers. They also rave about an engaged CEO and competent management.
This one's near and dear to my heart, because what these folks are trying to do is make learning addictive. But it's also addictive to work there, employees say. While work at this relatively new company is demanding, they still manage to have fun both at work and outside of work.
