So many of us don’t even know where our food comes from, how it grows, and what it looks like on the vine. Well, you can remedy that by heading out to a u-pick farm, many of which are across Illinois. Here are ten places where you can pick your own food:
1. Curtis Orchard and Pumpkin Patch
In Champaign, you can pick delicious, juicy apples (and pumpkins)! And you can enjoy some delicious food at the Flying Monkey Cafe, such as apple cider donuts.
2. Big M Berry Patch
In Taylorville, you can pick as many strawberries as you can gather. Once strawberry season is over, enjoy their fresh picked asparagus and other vegetables.
3. Kern Family Orchard
Out in Raymond, Kern Family Orchard lets you pick apples, berries, and even peaches. They also have their own local honey.
