Not to sound boastful (or windy), but Chicago is known for many wonderful things. There’s a reason we’re one of the biggest, most popular places to live and visit in the nation. There are just some things we do best, and everyone knows it.
From conservation to navigation to ingestion, Chicagoans are masters of it all. Scroll on for 10 things that make us awesome.
As the home of the world's first skyscraper, Chicago is all about building up and up. The tallest, of course, is the Sears Tower (formally known as Willis Tower), with 110 levels and nearly 1,500 feet in height.
The self-proclaimed "city in a garden" lives up to its motto through numerous parks and nature preserves around Chicagoland. Just within the city, the parks department is responsible for more than 8,000 acres of land.

You can find old buildings and remnants of ancient artifacts all over the city - and not just in museums. While many have been turned into night clubs, shopping malls, and bars, there are historical structures and vintage buildings aplenty throughout Chicago.

Just about any type of food that you may like can be done wonderfully in Chicago. From pizza to burgers to our famous inventions like Italian beef, there's no end to the delicious and crave-worthy dishes you'll find in every neighborhood here.
If there's anything Chicagoans do best, it's this. It's hard not to be a drinker with all the incredible local beers around. Better than any imported or generic domestic brand, you'll always find us with a pint of something that was made right here.
