Obviously located in the Midwest, you wouldn’t typically find Illinois notable for having blue waters. But in the shadows of large skyscrapers and a bustling metropolis, Illinois has one of the most beautiful bodies of water in America. We’re talking about lovely Lake Michigan. If you haven’t taken the time to walk along the lake – or, better yet, get out on the lake in a watercraft – you are truly missing out. It shimmers in the sun, and some days it is so blue that the sky looks muted against it.
