From the depths of the jungle to monstrous waves crashing against the shore, the Hawaiian Islands are undoubtedly home to some of the most stunning scenery in the United States – and maybe even the world. This drone footage from Vimeo user Karim Iliya features mesmerizing music and jaw-dropping aerial cinematography to create an ethereal masterpiece. The footage not only showcases the essence of Hawaii, but also features some incredible action shots – especially of surfers. One of my favorite winter activities is to make the trek to Oahu’s north shore to watch the massive waves and awe-inspiring surfers – and this footage gives you a whole new perspective.

The short film’s title, Laniakea, translates to “immeasurable heaven” in the Hawaiian language, and it certainly lives up to its meaning, doesn’t it? Aren’t we lucky to live in such an incredible place?
