The Short Hike In Hawaii That Leads To A Panoramic, 360-Degree View

With phenomenal views, incredible white sand beaches, the best hiking around, charming lighthouses and even awe-inspiring coastal tide pools, there is no doubt that the Hawaiian Islands are an absolute paradise. And while the entire state is full of amazing places to discover, there is one magical spot where you’ll find a stunning panoramic, 360-degree view sure to impress. The best part? You can find this view at the summit of a short, 2-mile paved hike on the southeastern tip of the island of Oahu. This is the Makapu’u Lighthouse Trail, and it’s an absolute dream.

The gates to the trailhead open daily at 7 a.m. and close at 6:45 p.m. For the most rewarding experience, visit in the morning or late afternoon when the sun is less intense. Bring plenty of water, and wear sunscreen. Oh, and don’t forget your camera!
