Something Truly Horrendous Happened Right Here In Georgia

How well do you know your Georgia history? Did you know about the worst natural disaster to hit Georgia in the history of its existence? It was the Sea Islands Hurricane of 1883–which struck near Savannah and killed between 1,000-2,000 people, mostly due to drowning. What’s even more drastic is that 30,000 people were left homeless as the hurricane destroyed nearly everything in its path.
