Top 10 Reasons Why Everyone Should be Thankful for Georgia

We love Georgia. Anyone who’s ever been to the state can understand why. Not only do we have one of the most beautiful states in the country, but we also have some of the friendliest people around. And you know what? It’s high time people throughout the United States recognized just how awesome Georgia is. So here it goes…

1. Thanks to a man named Herman Lay, we have the delicious, crunchy, salty perfection that are Lay's potato chips. He became a salesman for a company in Atlanta that he eventually took over, and voila—Lay's.

2. Everyone should thank us here in Georgia for being the birthplace to such a great thinker and movement leader like Martin Luther King Jr.

3. Guys, Chick-Fil-A began here in Georgia, and in fact the two brothers who own the company still reside in Atlanta. You're welcome for the amazing chicken sandwiches.

4. If it weren't for Georgia, you wouldn't have Coca-Cola. The fizzy beverage was actually invented in this fine state.

5. We sure do produce a lot of pecans. Which really translates to, we sure do produce a lot of scrumptious pecan pie.

6. And of course, we produce some darn good peaches. There's nothing like a juicy Georgia peach to make your day.

7. But then there are the Vidalia Onions, which really, everyone needs to say thank you to Georgia for.

8. We also have the largest Drive-In in the world. So you're welcome, U.S.A..

9. And while you're at it, you can thank us for our pretty phenomenal contributions to nature as well...ahem, Blue Ridge Mountains.

10. And then if you want to thank us for all of our delectable Southern cuisine and recipes...I guess we'll allow it.
