We’ve been known to brag a bit around here about the quality of food there is in Georgia. There are so many different types of cuisines, plus new restaurants popping up all over, it’s hard to keep track. We wrote up a piece already naming a few of the
restaurants you had to try in Georgia, so without running the risk of redundancy, we came up with an all new list of mouthwatering restaurants that you need to add to your summer culinary adventure. We appreciate ALL the feedback we received from our last list, and as promised, we listened to your suggestions!
1. The Dillard House—768 Franklin St, Dillard, GA 30537
Here's the thing about The Dillard House—they don't skimp. They serve up generous portions of foods like Fried Chicken, Virginia Sugar Cured Ham, Potatoes Au Gratin, Green Beens, and Creamed Corn. You name the Southern classic cuisine item, and they pretty much offer it. And boy, is it a tasty treat.
2. Soul Vegetarian—652 N Highland Ave NE Atlanta, GA 30306
There is something to be said about a restaurant that does vegetarian soul food—and that they do it right. Soul Vegetarian is just that spot. They feature awesome items like a country fried “steak”, paired with collard greens and mac ‘n cheese. Flavorful, inexpensive, and you won’t even miss the meat.
3. The Vortex Bar and Grill— 878 Peachtree St NE, Atlanta, GA 30309
OK, they serve “Tachos” which are tater tot nachos and they are SO delicious. But also, The Vortex has a bevy of unique burgers, catering to all your meaty desires. Make sure you bring your appetite, or have your doctor on speed dial, because these burgers are quite monstrous, especially the one with grilled cheese for buns.

In Australia or New Zealand, there are these little hand-size pies that sometimes have minced meat, gravy, onion, mushrooms, cheese, you name it, they probably have it stuffed into a delicious, flaky crust. Australian Bakery and Café brings those delicious meat pies (and non-meat pies) to the public and they are the perfect snack on a rainy day.

Meals like this make you wonder why you ever eat anywhere else.
