We’ve come up with a few of the more magical spots this state has to offer, just in case you feel like taking a trip. From a treehouse just outside of Atlanta, to catching a Milky Way star show on Brasstown Bald, check out these places of pure beauty all within Georgia state lines.
1. Atlanta Treehouse
This magical place above the treetops is one of the top places to stay at AirBnB. Its located right in our backyards, and boasts an enchanting stay surrounded by nature and pure beauty. It may be a bit pricey, but totally worth it once you're there.
The annual Balloon Race and Festival in Helen, Georgia is truly something to be marveled over. So many different balloons show up, peppering the sky with an amalgam of color.
3. Brasstown Bald
Many people hike to Brasstown Bald in order to see the views during the day, but if you are brave enough to make the trek at night, then the stars are a real wonder.
4. Stone Mountain
People flock to Stone Mountain Park for the train rides and laser shows, but if you are lucky enough to stay around the lake and witness the fog lifting on any given morning, then you are in for a treat.
5. Okefenokee Swamp
Capturing a sunset over Okefenokee Swamp might be one of the most beautiful views in all of Georgia. The allure of the gradient sky is worthy of waiting around until evening.
6. Gibbs Gardens
You do have to pay admission to these gardens, but if you do, you will understand why. Try going to the Gardens during springtime when all the flowers are in bloom.
7. Driftwood Beach, Jekyll Island
Jekyll Island is a delightful place for the whole family. The actual logs of driftwood, which have been smoothed over by the salty sea, are a bewitching sight.
8. The Old Mill
There is something extremely transfixing about an old mill, especially this one located by Berry College. Imagining the mill in its heyday only makes me wish I was around to photograph it.
9. Vickery Creek Waterfall
You already know the waterfalls that are scattered throughout are state are magical to say the least. But Vickery Creek Waterfalls is one of the most beautiful around.
10. Wormsloe Plantation
This famed street in Savannah attracts thousands of visitors and residents, who drive slowly, observing the winsome beauty of the mossy Oaks.
11. Atlanta Park
We added this little gem in order to show you that Atlanta is an enchanting place. Sure major cities seem to lose their luster for many, but there are still a few little spots where solace and grace can be found.
12. Toccoa Falls Waterfall
Toccoa Falls is a charming waterfall that deserves recognition. It does not flow heavily, but instead has a very light fall, which provides a serene and delicate ambiance.
13. Blue Ridge
If you are hiking the Blue Ridge Mountains, make sure you take some time to stop and enjoy the view. Catch a sunset, catch a sunrise, both are equally as wonderful.
14. Carters Lake, Ellijay
Carters Lake in Ellijay is more than 3,200 acres of pure magic. With just a short two-hour trip from Atlanta, you will be surrounded by nature and wooded wonderment.
