1) Stone Mountain, GA
Home to the big rock in Georgia, Stone Mountain is also known for its property and violent crimes. It has a crime rate of 71 per one thousand residents and ranks #24 in the state for crime.
2) Brunswick, GA
Along with their great seafood, Brunswick, GA also has a little problem with crime. You have a 1 in 12 chance of becoming a victim to crime in this city and the crime rate is 85 per one thousand residents.
3) Atlanta , GA
The capital of this great state, Atlanta, has a lot to offer, but it is generally regarded as an unsafe place to live. It doesn't do as bad as other cities with it being #14 in the state for property and violent crimes (with the inner city of about 400K residents.) Your chance of being a victim in Atlanta? 1 in 12.
4) Americus, GA
The total reported crimes are nearly 85 per 1,000 people. With almost 17K residents, your chance of becoming a victim in Americus is 1 in 11.
5) East Point, GA
East Point is a pretty dangerous neighborhood on the south side of Atlanta. It is right behind College Park in crime, with it being #3 in violent and property crimes in the state. You have a relatively high chance of being a victim with a 1 in 8 chance of being subjected to a crime in this city.
6) Cedartown, GA
Cedartown is not as big as the other cities on this list (with less than 10,000 residents,) but it's not much less dangerous. It's #6 in the state when it comes to violent and property crimes. Your chances of being a victim here is 1 in 10.
7) Griffin, GA
Griffin is a city of about 23K and it has a crime rate of 79 per thousand residents. It's a bit lower on this list, as it's #15 in the state for violent and property crimes. You have a 1 in 13 chance of being a victim in Griffin.

8) Norcross is located in Gwinnett County and has a host of ethnic restaurants and outlet furniture stores. It's also not the safest place to live in Georgia. Your chance of being a victim here is 1 in 14 and its ranking is #21 in the state.
9) College Park, GA
College Park is a city south of Atlanta and is known to be a bit dangerous by metropolis Atlanta residents. It is also the second most dangerous city in Georgia with a crime rate of 142 per 1000 residents. Your chance of becoming a victim in College Park is 1 in 7.
10) Swainsboro, GA
Swainsboro is not far behind College Park, as it is #5 in the state for violent and property crimes.
11) Albany, GA
With a population of nearly 80K residents, your chance of being a victim is 1 in 13. As far as this city's ranking, it's the 20th most dangerous in the state.
12) Douglas, GA
Douglas's ranking is #7 in the state when it comes to property and violent crime. Violent crimes are 9.77 per 1,000 persons and property crimes are 93.53 per 1,000 persons. What's your chance of becoming a victim in Douglas? One in 9.
Even though many of these places in Georgia have higher than average crime rates, I would still argue that Georgia is a pretty safe place to live! There’s not too many dangerous places and many of our cities are regularly ranked as some of the best places to live with Atlanta being one of them (metropolitan area.)
