Did you know that the state prepared food in Georgia is grits? Neither did I. (Even though I’m well aware that there’s not other state that makes grits quite as well as Georgia.) And I’m not just talking about traditional, savory corn-based grits. I’m also talking about shrimp and grits, cheesy grits, bacon-grease grits… You name it, we love it. Now that I have the attention of your taste buds, let’s talk about some of the best places in Georgia that serve up these bad boys.
This delicious gem brings some of the most sophisticated southern cuisine around. Set in a 1920s bungalow, South City Kitchen makes not only a first-rate, comprehensive brunch, but also their famed shrimp and Red Mule grits. What is inside this flavorful dish? Poblano peppers, tasso ham, smoked tomato gravy and the smoothness of cooked corn grits.

This popular vegetarian eatery boasts some of the most delectable, healthy fare in all of Georgia. But their grits....are on another level. Not only is The Grit ironically named, but it also features both regular and cheese grits as a part of its Breakfast and Brunch menu.
